 John and Marilyn Stellwagen own and operate the Waitsburg Hardware & Mercantile. They bought the business in 2005. John has a knack for finding just what you need. Marilyn loves caring for the large shipments of plants they bring in each Spring for all the local gardeners.
Come in and enjoy the old fashioned hardware/mercantile store environment. Experience the charm of this quaint store with antiques and historical pictures on display. A place where the community gathers to pass the time of day and catch up on the local news.
The building has been renovated while maintaining much of the historic personality dating back to the 1880’s.
 The store provides a service to the community with the Black Dog Rescue Program. Abandoned dogs and cats are rescued, cared for to include vet care and ultimately placed in area homes. The program has been responsible for placement of approximately 250 animals over the past two years. The program is supported strictly by donations.
The mission of Waitsburg hardware and Mercantile is to provide product and customer service to the greater Waitsburg area. If we do not have what our customer needs we will do our best to get it in a timely manner. We try to get to know our customers on a first name basis and to make each and every one feel welcome in our store.
